Main achievements in the area of justice during the 2005-2008 term of office
 

 1. Creating and implementing the Lukenda Project – elimination of court backlogs by 31 December 2010

2. More accessible and cheaper notary services

3. Adoption of 62 acts and 110 implementing regulations

The most significant legislative achievements:
- defining new criminal acts to fight commercial crime and corruption,
- criminal legal protection of juveniles, workers and environment protection,
- final decision-making by appeal courts in litigious and offence matters,
- electronic operation of courts with attorneys, notaries, prosecutors and state attorneys,
- legislative regulation of mediation and arbitration.

4. Establishment of a Central Department for Authentic Documents (CoVL)

5. Registration of companies and independent entrepreneurs through the web portal e-VEM (Vse na Enem Mestu – All in One Place)

6. Abolishment of court fees for the entry of companies and independent entrepreneurs into the court register

7. Reform of the system of court fees and attorney’s price list

8. Improving security at courts

9. Encouraging out-of-court settlement of disputes

10. Better management of spending budget funds through carefully planned investments into the judicial bodies

11. Reducing waiting periods for the lawyers’ state examination.

12. Successfully concluded EU Council Presidency in the projects of international cooperation in justice.
